Ginda, 21 January 2012- The inhabitants of Hade Administrative area, Ginda sub-zone, conducted a forestation and expanding grazing land activities through popular campaign.
Mr. Adem Ali and Ms. Medhin Bistuamlak, from the local inhabitants said that public awareness regarding the benefit of parks, forestation activity and preserving wildlife has improved, and expressed readiness to enhance contribution to this end.
Mr. Mehari Tesfagiorgis, Agricultural expert, said that the main purpose of the campaign is to preserve soil and water in the sub-zone, along with reforestation activities. He further indicated that around 32 thousand tree seedlings have been planted by the inhabitants of the Administrative area and 25,000 by those in Embatkala Administrative area, in addition to constructing 109 thousand meters of terracing.
Mr. Isa Nebir, Administrator of the area, commended the participation of the general public in the popular campaign, and the participants received certificate from the Agricultural Ministry’s branch office in the area.
