Keren, 21 January 2012- At an assessment meeting conducted by senior health staff in Anseba region, the professionals expressed readiness to step up efforts to ensure efficient health service in the region.
It was also disclosed that the public played significant role in ensuring mother-child health, and as a result the number of mothers delivering in health centers increased from 28% to 40%.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister of Health, Ms. Amna Nurhusein, said that the Government is doing its level best in training skilled manpower, along with enhancing the supply of drugs and health service facilities.
The head of the Ministry’s branch office in the region, Dr. Kesetebirhan Solomon, indicated that skilled manpower is vital in ensuring efficient health service, and pointed out that health service-rendering institutions in the region have been providing satisfactory service.
The participants on their part called for prioritizing the diseases that require control and stressed the importance of training in raising people’s awareness. They further called for enhanced health service facilities in Sele’a and Geleb sub-zones.
