Serejeka sub-zone: Projects underway for effective application of traditional power resource in register satisfactory outcome

At an assessment meeting conducted here in the capital yesterday, it was disclosed that projects underway in Serejeka sub-zone regarding forestation, allocation of bee hives, training of farmers and the planting of tree seedling have registered satisfactory outcome. Serejeka, 28 January 2012-  At an assessment meeting conducted here in the capital yesterday, it was disclosed that projects underway in Serejeka sub-zone regarding forestation, allocation of bee hives, training of farmers and the planting of tree seedling have registered satisfactory outcome.

Speaking on the occasion, the head of economic development in the Central region,   Mr. Yemane Abai, said that the project has played vital role in strengthening conservation of natural resources and ensuring food security.

The head of cultivation and seedlings unit at the Agricultural Ministry, Mr.Bereke Ogbamichael, indicated on his part that training has been given to 632 female and 27 male inhabitants regarding the smokeless oven and the installation of 5 thousand such ovens in the area.

He further stated that in the past four years, 2.7 million tree seedlings have been planted, and that 117 employees in tree seedling sites received training. Moreover, 271 hectares have been put under terracing, among others.

Mr. Bereke also pointed out that vigorous efforts are being made to install the smokeless oven in every household.
