Dairy farm in Dekemhare steps up efforts to increase production

Dekemhare, February 5, 2012- Zack Dairy farm in Dekemhare, which started business in 2008, is stepping up efforts to increase production, according to the manager of the farm Mr. Zekarias Fesehaye.

Explaining that he started the dairy business with minimal capital loaned from the Development Bank in 2001 and that it has shown an increase in production ever since, Mr. Zekarias said that the farm previously rated to produce only 50 – 100 liters of milk per-day has now recorded a tremendous increase vis-à-vis the growing number of cattle at his farm. To ensure quality milk production, the farm is cultivating select animal feed, he added.

His wife Mrs. Abrehet Gebregiorgis on her part explained that the farm is now producing a variety of milk products thanks to the support extended by the Government.
