Exemplary farmer reiterates readiness to redouble efforts

Mr. Gebreyesus Asmerom, who is engaged in the cultivation of fruits and vegetables in Seled plain, Segeneiti sub-zone, said that he would step up efforts and make good use of the loan opportunity the Government provides.

Segeneiti, 6 February 2012 – Mr. Gebreyesus Asmerom, who is engaged in the cultivation of fruits and vegetables in Seled plain, Segeneiti sub-zone, said that he would step up efforts and make good use of the loan opportunity the Government provides.

He said that he managed to tackle the previously existing shortage of water supply through purchasing generator thanks to the loan extended by the Agriculture Ministry’s branch office and the sub-zonal Administration.

Mr. Gebreyesus further indicated that a dam has been constructed at a cost of more than 200,000 Nakfa, and that water impounded during the rainy season is playing vital role in ensuring water supply.

He has put 3.6 hectares under cultivation.
