In line with the enhanced awareness of the public in the Southern Red Sea region regarding irrigation farming, the cultivation of fruits and vegetables in remote areas of the region is playing significant role in ensuring food security, including feed for livestock, according to the inhabitants of Belubui Administrative area.
Assab, 8 February 2012 – In line with the enhanced awareness of the public in the Southern Red Sea region regarding irrigation farming, the cultivation of fruits and vegetables in remote areas of the region is playing significant role in ensuring food security, including feed for livestock, according to the inhabitants of Belubui Administrative area.
Mr. Ahmed Mohammed, one of the farmers, explained that he has begun undertaking such cultivation after he observed fruits and vegetables gardens in the area and after receiving counseling from agricultural experts. He further indicated that he has managed to support himself and supply products to the market.
