The residents of Massawa City are bracing up to provide satisfactory facilities to participants of the 22nd Commemoration of Operation Fenkil. Reports indicated that preparations for the great event have been finalized.

Massawa, 9 February 2012- The residents of Massawa City are bracing up to provide satisfactory facilities to participants of the 22nd Commemoration of Operation Fenkil. Reports indicated that preparations for the great event have been finalized.

The residents of the city said that Operation Fenkil occupies a special place in the hearts and minds of all Eritrean citizens, marking as it did the demise of the Ethiopian forces of occupation, as well as heralding the nation’s imminent total liberation.

Massawa residents explained that the port city had witnessed impressive development achievements in the post- liberation period.

The 22nd Commemoration of Operation Fenkil would be held from 10 to 12 February 2012 under the theme: Fenkil: Gateway to Liberation and Progress.
