The need to boost milk production in Tessenei sub-zone has been emphasized.  The head of milk and meet production in the Agriculture Ministry’s branch office in the sub-zone, Mr. Tesfai Kiflom, called on farmers in the area to make optimal use of the livestock resources and fertile land at their disposal. He added that the Ministry is organizing lectures and training programs aimed at enhancing farming communities’ awareness.

Tessenei, 10 February 2012 – The need to boost milk production in Tessenei sub-zone has been emphasized.  The head of milk and meet production in the Agriculture Ministry’s branch office in the sub-zone, Mr. Tesfai Kiflom, called on farmers in the area to make optimal use of the livestock resources and fertile land at their disposal. He added that the Ministry is organizing lectures and training programs aimed at enhancing farming communities’ awareness.

Moreover, Mr. Tesfai said that the initiative taken to cultivate animal feed in more than 120 hectares has alleviated shortage in that respect, and that efforts are underway to extend it to 200 hectares in collaboration with farmers.  He also indicated that about 5,000 quintals of animal feed were supplied to the market.
