Carnival in connection with Operation Fenkil commemoration conducted

Carnival and various sports activities were conducted yesterday in Massawa along with the celebrations to commemorate the 22nd anniversary of Operation Fenkil.

Massawa, 11 February 2012 – Carnival and various sports activities were conducted yesterday in Massawa along with the celebrations to commemorate the 22nd anniversary of Operation Fenkil.

The celebrations that began in the morning hours at the port featured carnival of national construction companies, Massawa International Airport Authority and Gedem Cement Factory, among others.The carnival reflects development and infrastructure facilities underway in the Northern Red Sea region in general and the progress registered by Massawa International Airport in particular, in addition to the contribution made by Gedem Cement Factory in national construction endeavors. The display also featured agricultural activities and marine resources.
