Tessenai: Training given for owners and workers of service-rendering institutions

Owners and workers of service rendering institutions were given training regarding provision of efficient and timely services and sanitation.

Tessenai, 15 February 2012 – Owners and workers of service rendering institutions were given training regarding provision of efficient and timely services and sanitation.

The training in which more than 270 owners and workers of service-rendering institutions participated included handling and service provision of customers, human resources development, efficient service provision, management and preserving food as well as follow-up and exchanging information.

Mr. Tekle Frezgi, head of human resources development in the Ministry of Tourism, said that the role of owners and workers is imperative for the capacity development of tourism services.

He further explained that the major developmental programs under-way in Tesenei have the potential of attracting domestic and international tourists and said that since no significant tourism related trainings have been given it has not yet been possible to sufficiently develop tourism.  Mr Tekle also indicated that the human resources development branch would work hard for the development of the tourism industry and indicated the need for establishing a training center in Tesenei.

Mr. Teklebrhan Gebrewold, Administrator of Tessenai sub-zone, on his part said that though there exist many service-rendering institutions in Tesenei, the provision of services is not yet satisfactory and called on the trainees to make utmost use of the training they received.

The trainees pointed out on their part that the training they received would help them in providing efficient and up to standard services.
