Dairy Farmers Association makes vigorous effort to satisfy demand of beneficiaries

Along with the milk products it has been supplying, the Dairy Farmers Association in Debarwa sub-zone is exerting vigorous efforts towards raising production, and thereby satisfy the demands of beneficiaries.

Debarwa, 16 February 2012- Along with the milk products it has been supplying, the Dairy Farmers Association in Debarwa sub-zone is exerting vigorous efforts towards raising production, and thereby satisfy the demands of beneficiaries.

 

The manager of the Association, Mr. Goitom Eyob, indicated that it has supplied about 235 thousand liters of milk to beneficiaries in the past year, and that 15% of those products were consumed in the capital, Asmara.He further explained that at present milk production is on the rise, and that the Association supplies about 600 liters of milk daily in Debarwa town. Along the efforts made to introduce modern machinery, the Association will introduce new cooling and storing machinery, he added.

Mr. Gebretinsae Kibrom, member of the association, said on his that they have been getting advice from experts of the Agriculture Ministry, and that they making use of green animal feed which makes vital contribution in enhancing milk products.

The Dairy Farmers Association of Debarwa sub-zone was established in 1992, and has about 191 members.
