Efforts made to improve the livelihood of female nationals in Hagaz sub-zone are registering satisfactory outcome, according to the head of the NUEW branch in the sub-zone, Ms. Letekidan Woldegabir.
Keren, 18 February 2012- Efforts made to improve the livelihood of female nationals in Hagaz sub-zone are registering satisfactory outcome, according to the head of the NUEW branch in the sub-zone, Ms. Letekidan Woldegabir.

She explained that through loan program, 246 female citizens have received 5 goats each, and that the beneficiaries have managed to pay back the loan, and   that additional 58 females have received similar loan.
Ms. Letekidan further indicated that continuous campaigns to raise the awareness of the public regarding under-age marriage, harmful cultural practices and controlling contagious diseases, among others, have registered positive outcome.

Furthermore, efforts made to eradicate illiteracy have registered satisfactory outcome, benefitting a number of females in the sub-zone.
Ms. Fereja Ibrahim, one of the beneficiaries of the educational service, commended the Government’s efforts to upgrade the living standard of female citizens.
