Social Service-rendering institutions put in place improve their life, say Residents of Asmat

The social service-rendering institutions in Asmat sub-zone are providing commendable services and have improved the living standard of inhabitants, the residents said during their meeting with Mr. Abubeker Gimi’e, Administrator of the sub-zone.

Asmat, 22 February 2012 – The social service-rendering institutions in Asmat sub-zone are providing commendable services and have improved the living standard of inhabitants, the residents said during their meeting with Mr. Abubeker Gimi’e, Administrator of the sub-zone.

On the occasion Mr. Abubeker explained that there are schools in all seven sub-zones, including the boarding school that accepts students from Asmat, Sele’a, Halhal and other places that have reached junior and high school level. He further indicated that 70% of the inhabitants of the sub-zone have become beneficiaries of potable water.

As regards health services, the Administrator pointed out that the inhabitants are receiving commendable services and that efforts would be exerted to train foot-doctors and village health agents.

The residents on their part, appreciating the social service provision institutions by the Government expressed resolve to enhance their participation for the success of development programs.

Asmat sub-zone which comprises the administrative areas of Shegali, Hawish, Asmat, Hirum, Shaka-Wegret is located 120 Km. north of Keren.
