Vigorous efforts are being exerted to improve the living standard of citizens in Anseba region who lead nomadic lifestyle and live in remote areas, the regional Administrator Mr. Giorgis Girmai, disclosed at a meeting he conducted with the inhabitants of Sel’a sub-zone.
Sel’a, 25 February 2012 – Vigorous efforts are being exerted to improve the living standard of citizens in Anseba region who lead nomadic lifestyle and live in remote areas, the regional Administrator Mr. Giorgis Girmai, disclosed at a meeting he conducted with the inhabitants of Sel’a sub-zone.
He said that grazing land would be distributed to beneficiaries along the banks of Anseba, Zara and other rivers, and called on nationals to implement the village regrouping program for it is vital for setting up service- rendering institutions.
The participants on their part explained that because of nomadic life they were not engaged in agricultural activities, and thanks to the investment the Government is making in their area the culture of work is gaining momentum.
Sel’a sub-zone comprises the Administrative areas of Rikeb, Sherit, Girgir-Gersi, Badn, Debasta, Gedae, Merbebai and Tahra and has a population of 15 thousand who live in 24 villages.
