Mothers in Hagaz reassure readiness to enhance role in mother and child health care programs

Mothers in Hagaz sub-zone reassured their readiness to enhance role at decreasing mother and child mortality rates and to rid off harmful practices. They made the remarks during an awareness gathering on controlling communicable and non-communicable diseases. Hagaz, 26 February, 2012- Mothers in Hagaz sub-zone reassured their readiness to enhance role at decreasing mother and child mortality rates and to rid off harmful practices. They made the remarks during an awareness gathering on controlling communicable and non-communicable diseases.

Pointing out the importance of enhanced awareness campaigns among women in the region, the mothers underlined the importance of increased participation of the Ministry of Health, sub-zonal health representatives and mid-wives in order to identify and treat diseases quickly.

Mr. Gebremeskel Gebrehiwet, head of the Ministry of Health branch office noted that the prevalence of common diseases in the sub-zone has decreased significantly owing to the regular awareness and cleaning campaigns conducted and called on mothers to conduct regular ante-natal care and deliver at medical centers.

A general knowledge contest in connection with the awareness campaign was also held during the event and winners were awarded prizes.
