Elabered sub-zone: Commendable equilibrium of educational distribution reported

The head of schools in Elabered sub-zone, Mr. Medhanie Woldezgi said that relentless efforts are being made to assure the equilibrium of educational distribution, and that no one travels for more than 3 Km. to attend class.

Elabered, 28 February 2012 – The head of schools in Elabered sub-zone, Mr. Medhanie Woldezgi said that relentless efforts are being made to assure the equilibrium of educational distribution, and that no one travels for more than 3 Km. to attend class.

According to him, there exist 10 Pre-schools, 23 Elementary schools, 9 junior schools, and 3 High schools in the sub-zone rendering services to more than 12,300 students. He also indicated that the proportion of this year increased by more than 17%, compared to last year.

Moreover, Mr. Medhanie said that High school in Halib Mentel, Junior School in Debresina, and Elementary school in Sharki and Hmrehamarm were opened last year, and that two Elemntary schools constructed in Ribto and Qerets this year are rendering service.

The director of Awet Secondary School in Elabered, Mr. Abraham Hagos on his part lauded the equal participation of males and females, as well as the impressive attentiveness of female students in educational pursuit.
