Exemplary farmer making impressive contribution in satisfying market demand

The exemplary farmer in Ginda sub-zone, Mr. Mahmud Ramadan, who is engaged in horticulture at Beareza escarpments, is making commendable contribution in satisfying the local market and stabilizing the price of fruits.

Gindae, 29 February 2012 – The exemplary farmer in Ginda sub-zone, Mr. Mahmud Ramadan, who is engaged in horticulture at Beareza escarpments, is making commendable contribution in satisfying the local market and stabilizing the price of fruits.

Mr. Mahmud told ERINA that he received good yield from the 5 thousands of orange, lemon, mandarin he planted previously and that he received a spot in Asmara from which he could sell his products. He also indicated that he has future plan to produce fruits for export.

The exemplary farmer who owns 21 hectares of horticulture has created employment opportunity for 45 people and currently he is engaged in planting 2,500 mangos, avocado and other new type of vegetables.
