Associations of vegetables and fruits producers and dairy farmers have been established in Ginda sub-zone. Ginda, 3 March 2012 – Associations of vegetables and fruits producers and dairy farmers have been established in Ginda sub-zone.
In the first meeting the associations conducted, it was indicated that the objective is to raise productivity and contribute their share in stabilizing the market, as well as organizing training programs aimed at upgrading their skills and exchanging experience.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Tsigereda Woldegiorgis, Administrator of the Northern Red Sea region, commended the achievements they made on the basis of internal capacity and assured them that they would have the support of the regional Administration.
Members of the vegetables and fruits association indicated that they have opened a shop in Asmara to directly sell their products and that effort is underway to open similar shops in all the sub-zones of the region.
The participants conducted discussion on the topics raised and elected an executive body.
Documents indicate that there exist 300 vegetables and fruits producers and 20 dairy farmers, in Ginda sub-zone.
