Overall progress registered in Massawa attests to the concerted effort of the Government and the people

The progress which the port city of Massawa is registering is an illustration of the concerted development activities on the part of the Government and the people, said the residents. Massawa, 3 March 2012 – The progress which the port city of Massawa is registering is an illustration of the concerted development activities on the part of the Government and the people, said the residents.

In a meeting they conducted to assess activities in 2011, the residents stated that the development programs so far implemented are visible on the ground.

The residents further explained that the development programs being undertaken nationwide and in Massawa in particular have put in place firm foundation and accordingly their living standard is improving.

They went on to explain that thanks to the rigorous efforts and strong rebuff on the part of the Government and the people, Massawa has reached a promising stage passing through difficult times. They also said that the existing shortages are being tackled from time to time and that concerted effort is needed to alleviate the shortage of potable water.

Ms. Fana Tesfamariam, Administrator Massawa, pointed out that concerted efforts are being made to improve the socio-economic situation of the residents and appreciated the participation of citizens in the implementation of programs.

The residents on their part expressed readiness to reinforce their participation for the success of national development programs.
