Tessenei sanitary office conducts inspection on the health situation of consumer goods

The office of sanitation in Tessenei sub-zone is reinforcing inspection activities on the health situation of consumer goods, disclosed Mr. Siyum Gebremedhin, head of the office. Tessenei, 3 March 2012 – The office of sanitation in Tessenei sub-zone is reinforcing inspection activities on the health situation of consumer goods, disclosed Mr. Siyum Gebremedhin, head of the office.

Indicating that in 2011 different expired consumer goods worth 600 thousand Nakfa were burned, he said that because consumer goods destined to the sub-zone in general and Tessenei town in particular are huge in number strict inspection is conducted to stop expired goods from reaching consumers.

Mr. Siyum further explained that last year the office penalized 846 service- rendering institutions for wrong doing, in addition to engaging in environmental protection.

He also reminded traders to refrain from keeping expired consumer goods taking into account the danger they could pose to public health.
