Earthquake incident in Massawa

In the afternoon hours of March 6 on 1:40, 5:00 and 5:30, earthquake incident occured in most parts of the port city of Massawa, residents disclosed.

Massawa, 7 March 2012 – In the afternoon hours of March 6 on 1:40, 5:00 and 5:30, earthquake incident occured in most parts of the port city of Massawa, residents disclosed.

On March 3, a similar small scale earthquake was also felt in the city. In all three incidents no causality on life or property was reported, explained ERINA reporter.

According to the Eritrean Institute of Technology at Mai Nefhi, the epicenter of the earthquake on March 3 was at Arano, South Dankalia sub-zone, and measured 3.1 on the Richter Scale.
