Seminar conducted in connection with International Women’s Day

At a seminar conducted on March 5 in connection with International Women’s Day, it was suggested that women should make relentless efforts towards ensuring their equality.

Asmara, 6 March 2012 – At a seminar conducted on March 5 in connection with International Women’s Day, it was suggested that women should make relentless efforts towards ensuring their equality.

Speaking at the seminar, Maj. Tiebe  Kindia said that vigorous endeavors should be made to reinforce the role and equality of women, as well as change the negative perception of the society towards women. The event would be marked under the theme “Eritrean Women’s Role and Place in Traditional Society”

Lt. Colonel Rigat Biemnet on her part explained that admirable work has been done forwards making women register changes, get acquainted with modern technology and combat job discrimination , as well as play equal participation in the educational and political domains.

An exhibition highlighting works handcraft by women and a photo gallery by High School students was featured.
