Inhabitants of Rikeb become beneficiaries of potable water

The inhabitants of Rikeb sub-urban center, Sel’a sub-zone, have become beneficiaries of potable water supply. Sel’a, 10 March 2012 – The inhabitants of Rikeb sub-urban center, Sel’a sub-zone, have become beneficiaries of potable water supply.

They told ERINA that they used to lead nomadic life and drink impure water from rivers, and that after their regrouping they have been able to get basic services.

Among the inhabitants, Mr. Hamid Mohammed and Ms. Amna Ali explained that their problem of getting water has been solved and called on concerned institutions to stop the illegal cutting of trees along the banks of Zara River.

Mr. Mohammed Hassen, Administrator of Rikeb semi-urban center, indicated that the inhabitants have become beneficiaries of potable water from a reservoir and two distribution centers already put in place.
