In a workshop conducted in Mendefera, it was noted that nurturing healthy and disciplined youths who could contribute their due role in national development programs is the responsibility of all members of the society. To this end, the workshop stressed that educational and government institutions should reinforce their respective role. Mendefera, 10 March 2012 – In a workshop conducted in Mendefera, it was noted that nurturing healthy and disciplined youths who could contribute their due role in national development programs is the responsibility of all members of the society. To this end, the workshop stressed that educational and government institutions should reinforce their respective role.
It was also discussed that there need to exist strong follow-up and awareness campaign in order for educational and sports activities to develop.
Mr. Hager Garzai, head of NUEYS branch in the Southern region, indicated that through the efforts exerted by the Government and community it was possible to nurture youths equipped with knowledge and profession, and he called for the reinforcement of the efforts.
The participants on their part called for sustainable encouragement for female students, introduction of comprehensive work performance in order to avoid the prevalence of negligence, encourage sports activities become community based and the strengthening of relations between citizens and the Police in order to avoid crimes being committed by the youth.
