Ambassador Saleh Omer presents credentials to President of the Republic of Angola

Eritrea’s Ambassador to South Africa Mr. Saleh Omer presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of Angola, Mr. Jose Edwardo Do Santos, as Eritrea’s roving Ambassador to that country.

Asmara, 11 March, 2012- Eritrea’s Ambassador to South Africa Mr. Saleh Omer presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of Angola, Mr. Jose Edwardo Do Santos, as Eritrea’s roving Ambassador to that country.

During the occasion, the Ambassador delivered message from President Isaias Afwerki to the President of Angola, and reassured his commitment to work for strengthening bilateral relations between the two nations and gave briefings on the various hostilities weaved against Eritrea.

President Jose Edwardo Do Santos on his part pointed out that he closely follows the situation in the Horn of Africa region and that Angola is ready to endeavor for comprehensive peace in that region. President Jose Edwardo Do Santos also wished President Isaias Afwerki full health and peace and prosperity to the people of Eritrea.

Similarly, Ambassador Saleh Omer met with the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Angola, General Secretary of the party, Peoples Liberation Movement of Angola, as well as Head of African Affairs Desk at the country’s Foreign Ministry and held extensive talks on current affairs in Africa in general and the Horn region in particular.

During the meeting, the two sides agreed to exchange high level government delegation visits between Eritrea and Angola to further strengthen relations.
