Sel’a, 19 March 2012 – The newly constructed Elementary Schools to tackle the problem of low student participation are rendering commendable service towards improving the progress of students.
Mr. Mohammed Ibrahim, a teacher, said that elementary schools have been constructed in Adi- Ftui, Bade Administrative area, Sherit, Diebasata, and that a junior school is under construction in Rikeb semi-urban centre.
He further indicated that the number of students has increased by 80% compared to last year, and said that 12 school points are rendering commendable service in the program to eradicate illiteracy.
Ms. Kedija Mohammed Omar explained that those students transferred from Asmat Boarding School are too young, and suggested that a new boarding school should be constructed for them in Rikeb so that they may pursue education under the umbrella of their parents.
Mr. Musa Salih, director of Rikeb Elemetary and Junior School, pointed out that the number of students has increased from 186 to 225, and reminded that parents should play significant role in improving their children’s active participation in the learning process.
