Asmara Teachers Training Institute making due preparation to begin Diploma Program

The director of Asmara Teachers Training Institute, Mr. Alem Gebrekal, said that the Institute is making due preparations to begin diploma program in the near future.

Asmara, 21 March 2012 – The director of Asmara Teachers Training Institute, Mr. Alem Gebrekal, said that the Institute is making due preparations to begin diploma program in the near future.

He indicated that a new curriculum is being introduced for the diploma program and that it has been forwarded to the Board of Higher Education for assessment.

Mr. Alem explained that the Training Institute accommodates computer and library facilities so as to enhance the knowledge of the students, and noted the availability of English and Arabic language learning.

Moreover, the director explained that this year, the institute is providing training to a total of 615 teachers, out of whom 36 possess Masters degree.

Documents indicate that Asmara Teachers Training Institute has already provided training to 8,124 teachers since 1994.
