Mr. Mohammed Ali Adm, who is engaged in vegetable farming in Girjinai administrative area, Dige sub-zone, said that he is benefiting from the solar energy he introduced in his farm.
Girjinai, 23 March 2012- Mr. Mohammed Ali Adm, who is engaged in vegetable farming in Girjinai administrative area, Dige sub-zone, said that he is benefiting from the solar energy he introduced in his farm.
He indicated that he used to exert extra effort and incur huge expense in the 25 hectares of banana plantation, and that with the solar energy supply he is spending less time and expenses.
Mr. Mohammed Ali, who said that the technology he introduced has positively influenced other farmers around him, said that he used to spend 160 liters of fuel.
The exemplary farmer also explained that because the Barka River bank is rich in water and soils resources the number of people engaged in vegetable farming is growing and reminded vegetable farmers to apply modern irrigation system.
Moreover, Mr. Mohammed Ali also indicated that the climatic condition in Gash Barka region is suitable for introducing solar energy and advised other farmers to follow his foot-steps.
