The 35th year of liberation of Nakfa was colorfully commemorated on March 23 in the presence of Government officials, inhabitants of Nakfa as well as representatives of Army Divisions that were stationed there.
Nakfa, 26 March 2012 – The 35th year of liberation of Nakfa was colorfully commemorated on March 23 in the presence of Government officials, inhabitants of Nakfa as well as representatives of Army Divisions that were stationed there.
In a speech he conducted during the ceremony, Mr. Idris Ali Shiker explained that “Nakfa is a symbol of perseverance and never surrender of the struggle of the Eritrean people”, and that the investment being made by the Government is an indication of the bright future of the town.
He further indicated that the building of Nakfa-Afabet road as well as the different dams and micro-dams are among the programs undergoing and charted out for implementation.
During the occasion prize awards were handed over to winners in sports and cultural activities as well as general knowledge contests.
Nakfa was liberated on 23 March 1977 ones and for all.
