The Barentu Associate Nursing School graduated, yesterday 24 March, 94 students in certificate following a one year practical and theoretical training.
Barentu, 26 March 2012- The Barentu Associate Nursing School graduated, yesterday 24 March, 94 students in certificate following a one year practical and theoretical training.
During the ceremony Sister Qudusan Abraha, Coordinator of Schools at the Ministry of Health, explained that the ministry has established certificate level training centers for Associate Nurses in Gash Barka, Southern region, Northern Red Sea and Central regions respectively in addition to providing training at higher learning institutions in a bid to produce skilled manpower. She further added that 2,378 Associate nurses are providing services following their dispatch to various health centers throughout the country.
A representative of the graduates said during the event that the Associate nurses will with maximum efficiency put into action what they have acquired from the training.
Director General of Research and Human Resource Development at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Andom Uqbamariam, on his part called on graduates to serve the public with utmost diligence and to continuously work towards improving their skills.
During the event, graduates who excelled in their training received awards and certificates of excellence from the Administrator of Gash Barka region, Mr. Mohammed Hamid, and other officials in the region.
The Barentu Associate Nursing School was established in 2005 and has thus far graduated a total of 636 Associate nurses in certificate level.
