The branch office of the Ministry of Health in the Southern Red Sea region, jointly with the Ministry of Transport and Communications, conducted a seminar for truck drivers on communicable diseases in general and HIV/AIDS in particular. Assab, 26 March 2012- The branch office of the Ministry of Health in the Southern Red Sea region, jointly with the Ministry of Transport and Communications, conducted a seminar for truck drivers on communicable diseases in general and HIV/AIDS in particular.
Mr. Asefaw Gebremichael, Head of the Ministry of Health branch office in the region reminded truck drivers to play active role in preventing HIV/AIDS infections in the region and to join hands in the awareness campaign against the disease. Seminar participants on their part stressed that such awareness campaigns also need to include on all members of the society.
Head of Awareness and Information Unit at the Ministry of Health branch office, Nurse Mohammed Nguse, also expressed that helping the disadvantaged is a valued Eritrean culture which should be maintained and capitalized upon.
