Inhabitants of Debremariam express satisfaction for their regrouping

The inhabitants of Debremariam, Mai-Mine sub-zone, who were regrouped from mountainous areas to the flat land before three years said that their livelihood that was confined on agriculture and herding is reinforced with trade activities. Debremariam, 27 March 2012- The inhabitants of Debremariam, Mai-Mine sub-zone, who were regrouped from mountainous areas to the flat land before three years said that their livelihood that was confined on agriculture and herding is reinforced with trade activities.

Ms. Abeba Tekleab, owner of a shop, recalling her livelihood that was limited to small scale farming and herding, indicated that because they have been regrouped to flat land she was able to acquaint herself with trade and put an end to the hardship of living on mountainous areas.

Ms. Tahiguas Gebrenegus on her part said that because they are getting potable water, education, transport and health services they are spending their time pursuing education.

Mr. Shishai Tsige, work manager of Debremariam administrative area, indicated that through Government funding 791 households have become owners of residential houses and other 90 households who are requesting to be regrouped are asking the Government to help them build residential houses.
