President Isaias receives credentials of South African Ambassador

President Isaias Afwerki today received the credentials of the Ambassador of the Republic of South Africa, Mr. Mahomed Iqbal Dawood.

Asmara, 28 March 2012- President Isaias Afwerki today received the credentials of the Ambassador of the Republic of South Africa, Mr. Mahomed Iqbal Dawood.

During the occasion conducted at the National Palace the two sides discussed relations in trade and investment between Eritrea and South Africa, as well as regional and global issues, the Somali issue, the problems in South Sudan and the AU as well as measures that should be taken to resolve them.

Ambassador Mahomed Iqbal Dawood said that relations between the People’s Front for Democracy and Justice (PFDJ) and the African National Congress (ANC) is historical and that in the course of his tour of duty he would work hard to strengthen the existing bilateral relations of the two countries.
