Stuttgart branch of ENWVA donates 1 million Nakfa

The Stuttgart branch of the Eritrean National War-disabled Veterans Association (ENWVA) has contributed 1 million Nakfa to Association members in Adi-Quala, Emni-Haili, Areza and Mai-Mine sub-zones. Asmara, 29 March 2012 – The Stuttgart branch of the Eritrean National War-disabled Veterans Association (ENWVA) has contributed 1 million Nakfa to Association members in Adi-Quala, Emni-Haili, Areza and Mai-Mine sub-zones.

Mr. Tesfalidet Mengistu, head of the Southern region branch of the Association stated that 70 members of the ENWVA were given 10,000 Nakfa each, which is intended to be utilized for the purchase of livestock.

Mr. Sium Gebreyesus, Administrator of Adi-Quala sub-zone, stated that the war-disabled veterans should focus on prudent utilization of the money in order to improve their financial capability, and that the sub-zonal administration would assist them in every possible manner.

From members of the Association, Mr. Dirar Ukbatsion, commented that it has been giving them opportunities for professional training and credit, which were effective in improving their livelihood.

Mr. Gebregziabher who has been cultivating vegetables on 4 hectares in Adi-Qodo, expressed testimony that he could extend the area of farm land he has been using because of the supply of a water pump from ENWVA.

Mr. Tesfalidet Mengistu explained that the Southern region branch of the Association supplied 60 water pumps and 30 beehives to members of the Association engaged in vegetable farming and apicultural activities.
