Potable water supply in Kelay-Bealtiet Administrative area renovated

Potable water supply in Kelay-Bealtiet, which has not been functional due to damage over the past two years, has been renovated and began providing service.

Kelay- Bealtiet, 31 March 2012 – Potable water supply in Kelay-Bealtiet, which has not been functional due to damage over the past two years, has been renovated and began providing service.

Ms Tsega Megari, the Area administrator, who explained that the community had faced a big challenge to get water after the water supply stations were damaged, indicated that the community is now in a position to get potable water supply in 5 stations. She also indicated that fund raising has been made within the community to back up any similar hindrances to the project in the future.

Among the inhabitants, Ms Tirhas Hailu and Ms Dehab Mebrahtu, expressed satisfaction that they could find potable water in a distance of a walk while assuring that they would make prudent use of the water supply facilities.

Jim’a Gerezgiher, a student in the locality, who said that she did not have good attendance at school because of a long distance walk to fetch water, indicated that she has now ample time for school attendance and studies.
