Inhabitants of Libena Administrative area conduct soil and water conservation activities

The inhabitants of Libena Administrative area, Hamelmalo sub-zone, expressed that they are engaged in soil and water conservation activities in order to ensure food security. Libena, 8 April 2012- The inhabitants of Libena Administrative area, Hamelmalo sub-zone, expressed that they are engaged in soil and water conservation activities in order to ensure food security.

The inhabitants said that for the last three months they are engaged in renovating water canals and preparing plots of land for cultivation.

Mr. Mohammed Omar, Mr. Abdulkadir Omar and Mr. Ferej Mohammed Omar expressed that they are working hard with high spirit to prepare their plots of land for better yield and called for agricultural material assistance.

Mr. Mateos Lukas, Administrator of Libena administrative area, explained that the activities include building terraces, renovation of roads, preparing plots of lands for cultivation and repairing dams. He also appreciates the participation of the inhabitants.
