Debarwa, April 10, 2012 – The inhabitants of Geberekefelt Administrative area, Debarwa sub-zone, are carrying out construction campaign involving the fencing of junior and elementary schools in the locality.
Mr. Kesete Tekle and Mr. Tsegai Habtemariam, who explained that students were compelled to attend schools in Himbirti before the new school in the Administrative area opened, indicated that the popular activity underway is a demonstration of their satisfaction with the educational facilities made available in the area.
Ms. Ukba Tesfamariam, managing staff member in the Administrative area, stated that the natives and inhabitants of the locality, who have been supplementing the endeavors financially and in the form of workforce, would step up their participation.
Mr. Yosef Fisehatsion, director of junior and elementary school in Gebrekefelet, notified that the inhabitants are expected to complete construction of the 200 meters-long fence in two phases of work in fulfillment of their promise. He also indicated that 99% of the students of the school who sat for national general examination in 2010/2011 academic year had passed.
Meanwhile, the school administration stated that parents of the students built 2 additional class rooms, an office and water tanker.
