Fruits and vegetables farmers in Hishkib and Felket register positive outcome

Fruits and vegetables farmers in Hishkib and Felket, Qarora sub-zone, who shifted from nomadic style of living to fruits and vegetables farming, said that they have obtained commendable harvest. They also asserted that the farms being irrigated from Felket and Hishkib rivers have been facilitating the goal of getting satisfactory produce over the past few years. Qarora, 11 April  2012 – Fruits and vegetables farmers in Hishkib and Felket, Qarora sub-zone, who shifted from nomadic style of living to fruits and vegetables farming, said that they have obtained commendable harvest. They also asserted that the farms being irrigated from Felket and Hishkib rivers have been facilitating the goal of getting satisfactory produce over the past few years.

Among the farmers, Mr. Humed Mohammed and Mr. Mohammed Ali, indicated that the two-fold purpose of their farming activity pertains to improvement of their livelihood and meeting the demand for fruits and vegetables in the locality. They also stated that their harvest has met market demand in Mahmime.

Mr, Abubeker Mahmoud, Administrator of Felket and Hishkib Administrative area, indicated that the produce of the farmers is being sold in the markets of Adobha sub-zone.
