Easter celebrated colorfully

Easter was colorfully celebrated today nationwide. At the celebrations conducted at national level in Mendefera which was broadcast live by EriTV participants said “our Holidays beyond their spiritual and national values are occasions in which we transfer cultural values and unity for posterity.”

Asmara, 15 April 2012- Easter was colorfully celebrated today nationwide.

At the celebrations conducted at national level in Mendefera which was broadcast live by EriTV participants said “our Holidays beyond their spiritual and national values are occasions in which we transfer cultural values and unity for posterity.”

Mr. Tesfai Afwerki expressed that, as a result of the sacrifice paid, the foundation of the prevailing peace and stability is unity, and that working in harmony and unity in all occasions and programs has become a national value.

Priest Teklu Gebrekrstos and Sheikh Mensur Yasin who said that “Our unity is the basis of our existence and guarantee of our development”, underlined that the Holidays are special occasions during which cultural values are bestowed to generations.

During the celebration cultural programs as well as explanations on celebrations of cultural holidays and their meaning by elderlies and religious leaders was conducted. The Cultural Renaissance troupe of Southern region also staged different musical programs depicting the Holiday.
