Inhabitants of Mewgada effective beneficiaries of social service facilities: Report

Rural communities in Mewgada, Mensura sub-zone, who have been leading scattered pattern of living, explained that they have become beneficiaries of potable water supply and transport facilities after beginning to lead community style of living. Mensura, 16 April 2012 – Rural communities in Mewgada, Mensura sub-zone, who have been leading scattered pattern of living, explained that they have become beneficiaries of potable water supply and transport facilities after beginning to lead community style of living.

The inhabitants, who further indicated that they used to travel to a distant place to fetch unhygienic water, commended the Government’s resolve to improve their livelihood. They also attested that their children presently have access to educational opportunity.

Out of the inhabitants, Mr. Mohammed Menin and Mr. Gilai Tesfamariam, expressed conviction that development activities targeting remote areas demonstrate the Government’s commitment to fill up the gap between urban and rural livelihood. Ms. Kesul Humed equally lauded endeavors made to ensure implementation of all-round social service facilities.

Mr. Idris Ferej, Administrator of Mewgada Administrative area, called on the rest of the inhabitants still living in scattered households to take similar initiative.
