The inhabitants of Mai-Qoqah Administrative area, Laelai-Gash sub-zone, are carrying out soil and water conservation campaign with a view to enhancing their produce. Mai-Qoqah, 17 April, 2012 – The inhabitants of Mai-Qoqah Administrative area, Laelai-Gash sub-zone, are carrying out soil and water conservation campaign with a view to enhancing their produce.
Mr. Tesfahiwet Zemichael, a staff member of the Agriculture Ministry’s branch in the sub-zone and coordinator of the campaign, indicated that the inhabitants are actively engaged in the undertaking as they have full awareness on boosting production through effective soil and water conservation.
Out of the inhabitants, Mr. Zemichael Mesfin, said that they would constantly be engaged in such activities in the future. Likewise, Ms. Amleset Gide, asserted that prevention of soil erosion is a base to conservation of all agriculture resources and expressed the community’s readiness to back up such endeavors.
Reports indicate that similar activities are underway in other Administrative areas of the sub-zone.
