Inhabitants of Adi-Fakay Administrative area undertake farmland preparation activities

The inhabitants of Adi-Fakay Administrative area, Hagaz sub-zone, have been engaged in preparation of farmlands and terracing pursuing the purpose to boost production, and thereby back up endeavors to ensure food security.

Hagaz, 19 April, 2012 – The inhabitants of Adi-Fakay Administrative area, Hagaz sub-zone, have been engaged in preparation of farmlands and terracing pursuing the purpose to boost production, and thereby back up endeavors to ensure food security. They indicated that similar community-based campaigns used to be accomplished once a year in line with the growing trend of harvest and that they would step up such undertakings in the future.

Out of the inhabitants, Mr. Mohammed Saleh Kelifa and Mr. Osman Mohammed Abdalla, expressed conviction that the community’s active involvement in the national development drive has brought about a reassuring experience which has equipped them to brace up for better outcome.

In the same vein, Ms. Fatna Ali Omar lauded women’s participation in the campaign and said that they have also been engaged in assisting families of martyrs and needy nationals.

Mr. Adem Seidai, Administrator of Adi-Fakay Administrative area, explained that construction of terraces and water diversion walls has been completed in 336 hectares and that the team-based participation of the inhabitants would continue until the onset of the rainy season.

Adi-Fakay, one of the 16 area Administration centers of the sub-zone, is located 15 Km. south-west of Hagaz town.
