Assab, 20 April 2012 – The Health Ministry’s branch in the Southern Red Sea region conducted a seminar with Area and village administrators, religious leaders and elders as regards facilitating prevention of diseases through reinforcement of relations between the community and health personnel.
Mr. Berhane Eyasu, Administrator of Assab City, called on citizens in the region to enhance participation with the health personnel through putting forth constructive opinions so that the on-going community sensitization campaigns and endeavors pertaining to ensuring even distribution of health facilities.
The Health Ministry’s staff underscored that promotion as regards eradication of harmful customs and antenatal care should be given priority. The participants on their part expressed conviction that the desired relations should be demonstrated at all work levels, and that extra focus should be given to sensitization activities targeting students and civil servants.
Mr. Asefaw Gebremichael, head of the Health Ministry’s branch in the Southern Red Sea Region, indicated that consistent follow-ups are being made on the health institutions pursuing bold attention to enhance them. He further indicated that community – health personnel relations constitute an important element for the success of the endeavors being exerted by the Ministry.
