Massawa, 24 April, 2012 – The residents of Massawa said that the public library in the port city is rendering commendable service. They further explained that the library has raised its capacity in terms of both quality and quantity towards ensuring up-to-date information.
Mr. Tewolde Tesfai and Fetuh Sirur, who said that they have regularly been making use of the library, expressed conviction that they have managed to improve their general knowledge.
Melody Alem and Arsema Mehari, students in the city, on their part said that books in the library have enabled them to benefit from supplementary reading.
Among staff members of the library, Ms. Almaz Zerai, asserted that she has noticed a growing trend in the number of readers, and indicated that the library has 5,000 members.
Massawa residents called for extended service hours taking the growing number of library beneficiaries into account.
