Ministry of Transport and Communications issues Road Monograph

The Ministry of Transport and Communications has issued a road monograph that would serve as an information and direction tool for users. Asmara, 27 April, 2012 – The Ministry of Transport and Communications has issued a road monograph that would serve as an information and direction tool for users.

Mr. Medhanie Hadish, among the GIS staff of the Ministry, indicated that the monograph contains information on road types and settlement places as well as the existing transport services along all roads. He further indicated that such information is vital for travelers in all aspects.

The Ministry explained that previous studies made on the existing roads in the country was helpful in enriching the content of the road monograph, and called on the Ministry of Tourism and other pertinent institutions to make good use of the book.

Mr. Medhanie notified that the future undertaking of the GIS staff would be compiling the Tigrinya version of the road monograph.

It is to be recalled that the Ministry of Transport and Communications published a book regarding the work accomplishment over the past 20 years since independence that featured during the symposium it held last year.
