The Hagaz School of agricultural technic is exerting efforts towards ensuring food security by focusing on theoretical and practical agricultural researches, explained Brother Gebreyesus Habte, Director of the school.

Hagaz, 29 April 2012- The Hagaz School of agricultural technic is exerting efforts towards ensuring food security by focusing on theoretical and practical agricultural researches, explained Brother Gebreyesus Habte, Director of the school.

Elaborating that the objective of the school is to deliver sufficient agricultural products to the society, developing efficient and productive human resources and contributing to the endeavors to ensure food security, he reiterated that the school is working to conduct its activities with local resources.

He further indicated that the capacity of the students and the staff is steadily growing and that a firm ground for ensuring economic emancipation is being put in place.

Brother Gebreyesus expressed that factories of milk and milk products, marmalade from cactus and fruit processing are already put in place and providing services, and that there are more than 50 diary cows that produce about 200 liters of milk per day contributing to market stability.

Variety of fruit seedlings are also prepared for public distribution.

Students Maekele Gebrehiwot and Elsa Kifle, who came from Decemhare and Massawa, respectively stated that during their arrival to the school, they were afraid of copping the life there and that after two years they have been able to gain theoretical and practical knowledge.
