The inhabitants of Mai-Habar Administrative area, Ginda zub-zone, are engaged in water conservation campaign together with members of the EDF in the area. Ginda, 30 April 2012 – The inhabitants of Mai-Habar Administrative area, Ginda zub-zone, are engaged in water conservation campaign together with members of the EDF in the area.
The Administration of the locality disclosed that the popular undertaking involves construction of 5 micro-dams with a view to enriching underground water in the area.
Mr. Solomon Woldemichael, from the Agriculture Ministry’s branch in the locality, explained that the construction of 2 micro-dams is already nearing finalization through daily participation of 800 people.
One of the inhabitants, Ms. Jim’a Saleh, and Mr. Ermias Telemichael, member of the EDF, expressed confidence that remarkable outcome would be registered as regards water conservation on the basis of the endeavors being undertaken.
Mr. Ahmed Zeylie, Administrator of Mai-Habar Administrative area, said that the inhabitants were self-motivated to be engaged in the campaign to enrich underground water, and that the locality’s domestic as well as agricultural demand for water is about to be secured. He also commended the active participation of the inhabitants and the EDF members in the undertaking.
