Ginda, 3 May 2012 – The Administration of the Northern Red Sea’s regional referral hospital asserted that morbidity of communicable diseases has witnessed significant drop in Ginda sub-zone as a result of community-based environmental hygiene activities undertaken by the inhabitants.
Mr. Kesete Kahsai, Administration and Finance head at the regional hospital, indicated that endeavors made to boost popular awareness as regards environmental hygiene have borne encouraging outcome, and that the impact of communicable diseases has shown decline.
Mr. Yohannes Tsegai on his part pointed out that the practice of environmental hygiene is a reliable approach in safeguarding community health, and that combating malaria is among major tasks undertaken in the area.
Ms. Kedija Saleh and Mr. Gebremichael Atsbaha expressed conviction that such achievement is the outcome of active popular participation and government institutions in the locality.
