Asmara 4 April 2012 – Eritrean nationals living in a number of countries abroad staged demonstration calling for the annulment of the illegal sanctions resolution against Eritrea.

In big demonstration they conducted recently in connection with the 10th anniversary of the final and binding EEBC’s ruling on boarder delimitation, the Eritrean nationals living in the UK, Germany, Australia and New Zealand called for an end to the illegal sanctions.

Noting that the continued occupation of another country’s sovereign territories in violation of the UN Charter and international law constitutes an open aggression, the nationals asserted that the Eritrean people and their leadership would continue their resistance until the aggressive party withdraws from sovereign Eritrean territories.

In the demonstration that Eritrean nationals living in various British cities conducted in front of the Prime Minister’s Office, they called on the British government to put an end to its encouragement to the party still pursuing the law of the jungle. They further called on the British government to play constructive role regarding the Horn of Africa region. Moreover, they handed a signed petition to the UK authorities.

Likewise, in the demonstration carried out in Germany, the Eritrean nationals reiterated their determination to mount strong resistance against enemy conspiracies. They further asserted that there is no power that would deter the 2% remittance in support of development programs in the Homeland.

Furthermore, Eritrean citizens in Australia and New Zealand called on the Australian government to play due role towards the immediate annulment of the US-instigated unjust sanctions resolutions against Eritrea. They also reaffirmed that they would as ever mount staunch resistance through standing alongside their people and government, in addition to backing up the national development drive.
