The Administration of Anseba region said that integrating endeavors is a prerequisite for reinforcing the national development drive. Keren, 4 April 2012 – The Administration of Anseba region said that integrating endeavors is a prerequisite for reinforcing the national development drive.
Mr. Gergis Girmai, the regional Administrator, explained in a meeting he held with civil servants in Keren that dams and micro-dams built in the region have led to solution of potable water supply shortages, and that various development projects have been launched in line with the program of boosting fruit and vegetables farming. He further explained that a total of 66 hectares of farm land is due to be cultivated in this rainy season, besides the introduction of large-scale irrigation farming system.
The regional Administrator also called for increased efforts as regards popular campaigns in soil and water conservation, judicious use of water and animal feed reserves, more endeavors in the sphere of animal husbandry, and timely land preparation activities on the part of farmers.
He further urged government institutions and the public at large to exert joint effort for the effectiveness of educational and other facilities in the region.
